The TRAP (Temporary RoadBlock Apparatus Pack) is an adaptable perimeter security
system that is designed to be entirely portable for quick deployments out
in the field or used as a semi-permanent application at a gate entrance on
a military base. The TRAP is not only ideal for military use but also for
emergencies, detours, DUI checkpoints, or airport tarmacs. Wherever it is
applied, the TRAP prevents unauthorized vehicles from proceeding into controlled
areas.
The TRAP combines three products to form a completely portable traffic control
package: a tire shredder, a portable swing arm barrier, and a portable speed
bump. Each product can be used independently of one another, or as a unit,
depending upon what level of security theparticular situation requires.
The TRAP can provide understaffed locations additional security at the perimeter,
stopping threatening vehicles prior to them reaching vital assets and operational
areas.When the TRAP is deployed, the speed bump is placed a desired distance
away from the tire shredding system and swing arm barrier in order to slow
down traffic flow. As a vehicle approaches, the blades are in the up position
and the swing arm is closed.
After security personnel has verified identification, with the push of a button
the blades retract and the swing arm opens, allowing the vehicle to safely
proceed. Should a vehicle attempt to break though the barrier, the tire shredding
system will slice 3-4 three inch gashes in each tire, stopping the vehicle.
